| Planning a Tanzanian Safari |
| Dreaming of a Tanzanian safari? There is much to consider.
Where should you go? Tanzania has northern, southern and western safari circuits.
How do you get off the beaten path? There are opportunities to get away from it all even on the popular northern circuit, if you know how.
When should you go? Wildlife patterns are related to weather.
Are you interested in a wildlife safari or one which balances wildlife and culture? Visitors often report the people they meet as a highlight of their safaris.
Safaris mean long hours in a vehicle: Would you prefer active safaris which incorporate days of easy walking or days of adventurous trekking?
What are the best lodges?
What is camping all about and is it safe?
What are the best vehicles for game viewing?
What kind of vaccinations do you need?
What should it cost?
How can solo travelers go on safari?
“Planning a Tanzanian safari” addresses these questions and more. With all the information to sort through and safari operators from which to choose, it helps to have informed advice from a former resident of Tanzania who has made over 110 safaris into the national parks and game reserves.
Bio:
Leslie Nevison has called seven countries home—Turkey, the Sultanate of Oman, Singapore (twice), Tanzania, Uzbekistan, Greece, and the Republic of Congo. She has traveled through another thirty countries and written over forty travel articles for publication. In 2005, she started Mama Tembo Tours, Tanzanian wildlife and cultural safaris which she designs and often leads herself.
